REQUEST: Bob Dylan "Lay Lady Lay" for Jaye Maynard

Hey music lovers and requesters! I am back w/ an awesome request for you. This week's request comes from Jaye Maynard and is....

"Lay Lady Lay" by Bob Dylan.

"Lay Lady Lay" has been covered by many including The Byrds,  Duran Duran, Cassandra Wilson, even a duet with Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash and now it's being covered by yours truely mwah, Shanna Sharp, in her bed no less! The song was written for the 1969 movie "Midnight Cowboy". However Mister Dylan's fabulous song wasn't turned in on time and Harry Nilsson's song was chosen for the theme song instead; SCANDOLOUS! But Nilsson's song, "Everybody's Talkin" did go on to win an Oscar. So good job Harry.
Speaking of scandle, when the song "Lay Lady Lay" was first released, many radio stations refused to play it because the word "lay" was in the title, assuming it referred to getting "laid".  Dylan vimenently denied the accusation and said the song had no intended sexual terminology. Come on Bob what else is a girl to do when she's "laid across your big brass bed"?
"Lay Lady Lay" can be found on Dylan's Nashville Skyline album released in 1969. If you don't own a Bob Dylan album don't let anyone know and run and get one before you're found out.

Thanks always for checking out "In Bed With Shanna Sharp"
